Cooperative and safe AI

Bio
I have been working as an semi-independent AI Existential Safety researcher for a couple years now. I have a lot of very general but fairly shallow experience in a range of adjacent spaces. I've also done my share of vegan activism :)

In the last iteration of this program I helped with writing What Failure Looks Like for Animals.
I am especially interested in projects that involve: - Using AI to facilitate coalition building / coordination, and to empower advocates - Relating to AI systems as partners in mutually beneficial trade - Questions / cruxes related to how concerns about artificial sentience might intersect with AI Safety
Mentee must-haves/nice-to-haves
1. Has read https://forum.effectivealtruism.org/posts/tGdWott5GCnKYmRKb/a-shallow-review-of-what-transformative-ai-means-for-animal 2. Takes AI takeoff seriously: Within 5-10 years there will exist AI systems that are on all accounts smarter than a human being, and this will completely change what the landscape looks like. 3. Has their own ideas/opinions and are highly independent
