Reimagining nonhuman depictions in games and interactive media

Independent

Bio

  • I am a creative productivity partner. I enjoy mentoring early-stage thinkers, especially people exploring how projects can shift culture and expand imaginationfor better futures for nonhuman animals.
  • I am a generalist with mixed experiences in startup founder coaching, cybersecurity compliance federal consulting, plant-based VC fund building, and diverse project management work.
  • Most recently I have been upskilling in AI ethics and exploring material impacts of AI compute and applications on animals, environments, and humans.

Mentee must-haves/nice-to-haves

  • For my project: experience as a gamer
  • For your project: open

Mentee role

  • Be creative partners.
  • Help build early interest areas (e.g., ethics guidelines, AI tools, game design concepts, or movement-building strategies).
  • Help shape and co-create key components of the incubator by researching, brainstorming, evaluating, and refining the idea.
  • Think through ethical design questions, test AI use-cases, and develop materials that make the incubator practical and persuasive to future developers and funders.

❓ Sample mentee tasks

  • Explore AI use-cases such as narrative engines, animal behavior modeling, or compassionate design checklists.
  • Design principles that illustrate what the incubator could produce (imagine sample “compassionate game” concepts, narrative ideas)
  • Design components of the curriculum, such as ethics modules, AI-assisted creativity sessions, or prototyping labs.
  • Creating small experiments (e.g. like micro-stories, mock-ups, or scenario prompts) to demonstrate the incubator’s creative potential.
  • Helping create pitch materials, one-page summaries, or diagrams that communicate the value of the incubator to partners and funders.

Mentor support

  • I enjoy helping people shape fuzzy ideas into grounded projects/ventures.
  • As a creative productivity partner, I work best with folks who benefit from idea wrangling (through prompts) into tracked action + reflection.
  • I am best for folks who need reflection and focus with tracking and getting-stuff-done.

Mentor-led project

Game studio venture

This project is a bit beyond the idea stage. The goal is to reimagine how animals are represented in simulative digital content (video games, simulations, and AI-generated media). We will be developing the foundational structure for a new game development incubator focused on animal ethics and AI. We will be asking 'how can AI assist in designing humane, non-extractive representations of nonhuman life in interactive media?'

  1. One part involves translating ethical questions and standardizing animal abstraction guidelines (ethics, world-building approaches, data portals).
  2. The other part involves developing a collaborative structured program to support writers, game designers, developers, artists, and ethicists in building prototypes, stories, and tools that treat animals as subjects, not objects.

Output

A refined incubator vision, draft curriculum, implementation plan, outreach strategy, a clear articulation of how the incubator advances animal-aligned AI and culture change, sample design guidelines, and small creative experiments illustrating the incubator’s mission.
